No Wakes On Moon Lake

COAHOMA COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — Coahoma County’s Moon Lake has been declared a temporary “no wake zone” by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. Runoff and heavy rains have elevated the lake’s level to a point where wakes caused by boats could damage the shorelines or injure people on piers. The “no wake” declaration means boat traffic on the lake must operate in a dead slow, no-wake manner until the water level recedes.
