New Methods of Execution Considered for Mississippi

(Jackson, MS) — Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood said he will ask legislators to set an alternative form of execution besides lethal injections. He said he could include use of nitrogen gas, electrocution or firing squad. Hood said he is asking for this alternative in case the state is blocked from doing lethal injections. The proposals are on a list of requests Hood is making this legislative session.
