New Clarksdale High School Stadium Will Cost $6.8m

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — $6.8 million is the price tag for Clarksdale High School’s new stadium. Ground was broken last month, the stadium is expected to be ready for the 2020 football season and could host a track meet as soon as next spring. Falkner, Mississippi based XCavators Inc. is moving dirt in phase one of the project and Roberts Builders from Ripley will build the stadium. A parking lot is not included in the project but superintendent Dennis Dupree told the Clarksdale Press-Register that there is plenty of parking already and the scoreboard and locker rooms will be done separately. The $8.2 million bond approved by voters two years ago will fund the new stadium as well as improvements at other schools in the Clarksdale district.
