MSU’s active shooter returning to campus

Chicot Memorial

The student who was arrested after sparking a campus lockdown will be allowed to return to Mississippi State University. An attorney representing Phu-Qui Cong “Bill” Nguyen of Madison says that MSU has decided to allow his client to re-enroll for the spring 2016 semester. The university issued an “active shooter” alert August 27th after receiving credible information that Nguyen was threatening to hurt himself and others. Nguyen was unarmed when he was arrested; the school suspended Nguyen, banned him from campus and planned to press disorderly conduct charges but later declined to charge him citing a lack of evidence.
