Mound Bayou Christmas Parade Gets A Grand Marshal

MOUND BAYOU, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mound Bayou Christmas Parade has announced its choice for Grand Marshal. Long-time Civic Club member, former President, and current Treasurer Mamie Tate will take the honor this year as Mound Bayou gets into the Holiday Spirit. For years, Tate has coordinated events around Mound Bayou like the annual Founder’s Day, Spring Tea, a fundraiser that provides a scholarship for one John F. Kennedy Memorial High School senior, and residential Christmas decorations contests. In 2016, the Women’s Missionary Society award Tate the Life member Achievement award, the organization’s highest honor. The Mound Bayou Christmas Parade kicks off at 6:00 PM this Saturday.
