Most Vicksburg Police Are Getting A Raise

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — Vicksburg Police are getting a raise. Some of them anyway. The Vicksburg Mayor and Board of Aldermen have approved a $.50 per hour pay increase for officers. That means officers will go from $13.65 to $14.15 an hour. The pay raises for police do not include ranking officers. Mayor George Flaggs says the goal is to help eliminate the current manpower shortages, retain current officers, and boost morale. The raises will go into effect in January.
