More Mississippi State Employee Layoffs Coming

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Two more state agencies will lay off workers. The Mississippi Department of Mental Health will lay off 125 workers at four facilities, part of an overall plan to trim employment by 650 and the Public Service Commission will lay off three employees. Last month the Forestry Commission announced plans to reorganize and lay off 75 workers, all a result of state budget cuts.
