More Flooding, Severe Weather on Tap This Week

Chicot Memorial

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — A wet and stormy week is in store for much of the Delta. The National Weather Service is warning that much of the area could see between three and six inches of rain in storms that will begin to affect the west and southwest parts of the Delta as early as Tuesday, and spread slowly eastward continuing into Thursday. The inclement weather will be possible ahead of a cold front sweeping in from the Northwest. Damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes will be possible with the system as well, mainly Wednesday and Thursday. Flooding could become widespread where the training of thunderstorms occur Tuesday through Wednesday night. Flash flood watches will likely become necessary for some parts of the Four State region through midweek.
