Monticello Seeing Boom In New Businesses

Monticello, AR (Wesley Carnicle) — Monticello is seeing a boom in new businesses. The trend of new business openings in Monticello that started in 2016 is continuing this year. In 2017 a new Domino’s Pizza has opened next to a new Sam’s Southern Eatery. The Circle “N” Gas station has opened a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Franchise, and owners expect a Long John Silver’s at the location next. And Delta Radio may be seeing less of its chief cook and bottle washer Larry Fuss as his favorite restaurant, Chick-Fil-A is now open to the public on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

  1. Someone should work a little harder on their fact-checking. Sam’s Southern Eatery has recently opened, but they have barely begun the work necessary to open the Dominoes Pizza next door. Also, there is talk of a Chick-fil-A at UAM, however, nothing new has opened on campus as of yet. I have also heard from a reliable source that UAM is looking into other franchises. I am unaware of the Baskin-Robbins or Long John Silvers franchises, but there is a Dairy Queen opening on part of the old Coca-cola property. BTW- I’m on campus 5 days a week and speak with faculty and administrators regularly.
