Mississippi State Star Headed To The Minnesota Twins

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Ben Caxton) — After rewriting the Mississippi State baseball record books, Brent Rooker will continue his career at the professional level. The Memphis native was picked in the first round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins, 35th overall and is the school’s 14th first-round pick. Rooker finished this season with a .387 batting average and a school-record 30 doubles. His 96 hits are eighth for hits in a single season and his 23 home runs are fifth in Bulldog history.
