Mississippi Rising Back into Flood Warning Territory

TUNICA COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for several counties including Coahoma, Desoto, Quitman and Tunica Counties in Mississippi and Phillips County, Arkansas. The Mississippi River rose above flood stage at Tunica Riverpark Friday and moderate flooding is predicted as it peaks 5 feet above flood stage Saturday. Minor flooding is expected as the river reaches flood stage in Helena and Friars Point next Monday, and minor flooding has occurred in northern Quitman County near Lambert as the Tallahatchie River reached flood stage on Sunday.
