Mississippi Prisons Open Doors for Wyoming Inmates

TUTWILER, MS (Ben Caxton) — 88 Wyoming prison inmates have been moved to Mississippi. The Wyoming Department of Corrections says that 60 inmates were moved April 4th and another 28 on April 12th to the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler. They all arrived safe and after a 32-hour bus ride. Corrections officials say the move frees up space for Wyoming’s prison system to take state inmates currently housed in county jails and allows inmates to be moved within the Wyoming State Penitentiary in Rawlins during major repairs there.
