Mississippi motorists caught texting while driving are receiving 25 dollar fines for each offense

The new state anti-texting law took effect this past summer. Next year the penalty becomes $100 per civil offense. The fine print says that also includes using any hand-held device for social media and the like. Law enforcement officials say police are now looking for violators, so you best put down that phone or pull over when you need to text.
