Mississippi Has Lowest Priced Gasoline in the Nation

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — You’ll pay the most for a gallon of gasoline in San Francisco and the least in Jackson, Mississippi. During the last two weeks, the average US price of regular-grade gasoline has gone up 2 cents a gallon to $2.93 and industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says that’s 53 cents a gallon higher than at this time last year. She adds that prices could actually drop slightly in weeks ahead because refiners have increased capacity and current demand is weak. The highest average price in the contiguous 48 states is $3.69 in the San Francisco area and the lowest average is $2.53 in Jackson.
