Mississippi Gulf Coast Hurricane Cleanup Continues

Chicot Memorial

GULFPORT, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Gulf Coast is in cleanup mode after Hurricane Nate rolled through over the weekend. The state department of transportation has been cleaning up coastal roads covered in sand and beaches full of debris. Many beaches remain closed and Rupert Lacy, Director of Harrison County’s Emergency Management, said that the storm surge from Nate could have been deadly and much worse. The county is hoping to get federal funds to help repair infrastructure damage.
