Mississippi Electronic Testing System Freezing Up

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — 45 Mississippi school districts, about a third of those in the state, reported problems Friday with the electronic system that students use to take statewide math and English-language arts tests. Students had trouble advancing through the tests online with the system sometimes freezing up. New Jersey-based vendor Questar Assessment has been asked about the problem’s cause and what they will do to prevent future problems. Mississippi schools have until this Friday to complete state tests and students who couldn’t complete tests last week will get time to finish later. 84% of all English-language arts and math testing was complete as of Thursday.
