Missing Benton Lousiana Man’s Body Found in Benton Mississippi?

BENTON, LA (Ben Caxton) — Authorities say a badly decomposed body found in rural Yazoo County may be that of missing Louisiana man, 32-year-old Shawn “Corey” King, who was last seen on August 3. His Chevrolet Tahoe was found on Tuesday, wrecked and abandoned, on Highway 16 near Benton. According to Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers, the body was found about 700 feet from the highway at the edge of a cotton field. Authorities say there was no obvious sign of foul play. King was from Benton, Lousiana, about 200 miles from where his truck and the remains were found in Benton, Mississippi. The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, in a news release, said King had been scheduled to begin a new job in Ruston on August 6th but had not returned to get the bag he was packing.
