Mighty Miss Welcomes New Brewmaster To Greenville

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — There’s a new Brewmaster in town. The Mighty Miss Brewing Company announced yesterday the hiring of Scott Hettig as Brewmaster for their Greenville operations. Hettig comes to the Delta with nine years of brewing experience at the St. Francis Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hettig got his start in homebrewing almost 30 years ago but has been working his craft as a professional for the last nine years, first as an Assistant Brewer at Rock Bottom brewing in Cleveland, Ohio before moving on to Milwaukee where he focused on German-style brews. “Brews on the coasts tend to the over-the-top hoppy beers, while the beer drinkers in the middle of the country aren’t quite there yet,” Hettig said adding he prefers more balanced traditional German-Style beers. Mighty Miss is currently producing four beers which can be found in various markets in Mississippi. The brewery is hosting a grand opening a week from Saturday between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the brewery location on 525 Washington Ave. Admission is free.
