Metcalfe Mayor Pleads Not Guilty.

Chicot Memorial

The Mayor of Metcalfe has pleaded not guilty to charges connected to a teacher certification fraud scheme. 36-year-old Corey Holmes was released on personal recognizance after Wednesday’s appearance in a federal courtroom in Memphis. He stands accused of paying for a test-taker to take his teacher certification exams for him and helping to arrange that deal for another person. The alleged scheme was run by a former Assistant Principal in Memphis over a 15 year period. A trial date for Holmes has not yet been scheduled.
