McAdams Suggest $6M Loan for Street Repairs

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Greenwood may soon be spending about $500,000 a year to pay off a loan to repair streets around the city. Mayor Carolyn McAdams told the council on Tuesday that’s what a $6 million general obligation bond the city is considering would cost to pay back each year. She noted that many streets have not been repaved in years and that’s led to some serious problems for anyone driving in the city.

  1. Wouldn’t it be easier to spend the 500,000.00 on street repairs and not owe any money. By the time you paid back bond and interest streets be paved and no interest paid on bond.
