Marine Crash Site Recovery Effort Going Underwater

ITTA BENA, MS (Ben Caxton) — The recovery efforts at the site of the Marine transport crash near Itta Bena is going underwater. The Greenwood Commonwealth says a team of six divers will be scouring fish ponds, streams, rivers, and other water sources around the crash site today in support of the ongoing investigation. The cause of the crash is still unknown, and teams are still recovering debris in the hopes of understanding exactly what went wrong with the ill-fated flight that killed sixteen servicemen. There is no word on exactly which organization is supplying the divers for today’s search efforts.
