Maple Street Shooting Claims Second Victim

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Wednesday shooting on Maple Street in Greenville has claimed it’s second victim. Police say 32-year-old Dexter Morris succumbed to his injuries and died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Morris was one of two people shot shortly after noon in the 400 block of Maple Street last Wednesday. 39-year-old Christopher Beal was pronounced dead at the scene. Greenville Police are still investigating the killings. Two other people were shot in an unrelated incident earlier the same day. 23-year-old Geor’barri Wells is accused of shooting and killing a 24-year-old man and injuring a 33-year-old woman in the 200 block of Walnut Street shortly past midnight after an earlier argument at a party the night before. Wells is behind bars on $750,000 bond on one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of aggravated assault.
