Man Who Smuggled Drugs in Tennis Balls Sentenced


(Gulfport, MS) — A Pascagoula man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for trafficking meth. 27-year-old Michael Wayne “Swisha” Hanzik, Jr. was sentenced in U.S. District Court on Thursday. In August, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute meth. On March 24, Hanzik tried to hide meth in his mouth and was arrested in a traffic stop in Jackson County. In addition, federal drug agents found meth-stuffed tennis balls in his car. Hanzik has an extensive criminal history.
