Man Who Claims Beaten by Police Wants $1 Million

YALOBUSHA COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — The lawyer for a black man who says he was pulled over last month and beaten by white police officers is seeking $1 million in damages. David Logan claims he was stopped at a roadblock on July 18th; when authorities noticed he was driving with a suspended license they attacked Logan because they assumed he was going to run. Yalobusha County Sheriff Lance Humphreys said Logan appeared to be on drugs and tried to tackle the officers and was shocked with a stun gun after injuring two of them. Logan’s lawyer is asking for money from the Yalobusha County sheriff and Water Valley police department.
