MCCOMB, MS (Ben Caxton) — A stabbing at a McComb federal government office has left one man dead and two others in the hospital. Police say a man later identified as 21-year-old Branen Carter of Foxworth was at the McComb Social Security Administration Offices with his mother, Lee Anna Turnage, and grandmother, 58-year-old Ann Carter. Witnesses say Brandon Carter got into an argument with the two before stabbing them. Police converged on the building and Carter was shot dead by a security guard. Reports say the grandmother was in critical condition at Southwest Mississippi Medical Center in McComb where she was taken initially. A hospital spokesperson at Southwest Mississippi Medical Center in McComb told press that the grandmother was in critical condition when she was initially being treated at the hospital and said the mother had been flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
