Mainline Gifts UAM With Endowed Scholarship

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — Southeast Arkansas’ Mainline Health Systems announced a $51,000 gift to the University of Arkansas at Monticello this week. The money is to be used to create an endowed scholarship to be presented each fall and spring semester in honor of Mainline’s founder and first director, Betty Gay Shuler. The scholarship is open to residents of Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, Drew and Lincoln County, who are juniors or seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and major in a pre-professional medical field such as pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, or pre-physical therapy. Mainline Health Systems is a non-profit organization which has been providing medical and dental care for southeast Arkansas residents since 1978. They have 10 locations in Ashley, Chicot, Drew, and Lincoln counties.
