Local elections ready for Voter ID

After much debate and legal challenges, Mississippi’s Voter ID law goes into effect tomorrow. An acceptable form of ID includes driver’s licenses, military ID or passports. There were also a small number of voters who took advantage of the offer of a free Voter ID card if they didn’t already have another form of ID. Voters who show up at the polls without ID will still be able to vote by affidavit ballot, but then they will still have to meet the ID requirements within 7 days.
