Leland School District Board President Brandon Taylor said that firing Superintendent Malcolm Brown was not a sound decision

Chicot Memorial

The board voted 4 to 1 to remove Brown and Taylor represented the only vote to keep him saying he didn’t understand why the man was terminated. He went on to explain that Brown has only been on the job for two months and it’s the board that needs to be re-evaluated. Board members charged Brown with insubordination and replaced him with Jorgell Jones in an interim capacity. Brown still refuses to comment under the advisement of his attorney.
