Leland Announces A New Top Cop

LELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Leland announced their new Chief of Police yesterday evening. Formerly retired Highway Patrol Officer Percy “P.K.” Nelson, who retired from the State Patrol just several months ago will be heading back to work. He is taking over the top cop spot in Leland starting a week from Monday. Nelson replaces outgoing Leland Police Chief Billy Barber who announced a few days ago that his last day with the department will be July 30th, after four years at the helm of the small community’s police force.
