LeFlore County Terminating Tenants At Incubator Sites

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — The LeFlore County supervisors are kicking out a couple of tenants who have been renting space from the county. The county rents space at the county incubator building in Itta Bena, and at the former Mississippi Highway Patrol building along US Highway 82. The space is supposed to be used to help new businesses get started, but County Attorney Joyce Chiles says neither tenant meets requirements for occupying space in the incubator. The Itta Bena building has just one tenant who uses office space just twice per week. Another tenant moved from the Itta Bena site to the old MHP building when emergency personnel took over and used the building as headquarters when a Marine C130 Cargo plane crashed nearby this summer. Supervisors approved serving both tenants 60 days’ notice to end their lease agreements with the county and to vacate both buildings.
