Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Clarksdale

(Clarksdale, MS) — A federal judge dismissed a voting rights lawsuit against the city of Clarksdale. The lawsuit was brought by four residents who alleged the ward lines in the city were drawn based on racial demographics and were illegal and violated citizens’ voting rights. Mayor Bill Luckett said the lawsuit was frivolous and without merit from the start.
