Jet Service Coming to Tupelo Airport

TUPELO, MS (Ben Caxton) — A northeast Mississippi airport will be getting jet service for the first time beginning in the Spring. Contour airlines announced this week that it will be replacing is 15-seat twin-engine turboprops being used for flights between Nashville and Tupelo, with 30-passenger Embraer “ERJ135” jets beginning on April 1st. Even though the airline will be reducing the number of flights more seats will be available, and the airline said it wants to make service more appealing to flyers. The new jets will feature a cabin attendant – and a bathroom.
