January 6: The Week In Review

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — The first full week of news for 2018 is in the books in the Delta. If you weren’t listening to Delta Radio every morning, here’s what you might have missed. The smell of roasted peanuts continues to haunt residents near Greenwood, while that city also lost a well-known and well-loved physician. In Cleveland, a high school football star was lost to an accidental gunshot wound, and a tragic traffic accident cost the lives of adult and two children. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies lost track of yet another violent inmate, while Drew County Sheriff’s were busy with a pair of New Year’s domestic violence arrests. A President in Moorhead has unresigned, The Clarksdale Mayor forgot his position on charter schools and compared the former mayor to Roy Moore, USA Today voters say the Vicksburg National Military Park is Mississippi’s best attraction, and Slidell, Lousiana police captured a white Nigerian Prince. All of this and much more, this week, from Delta Radio, and deltadailynews.com.
