Jackson Infant Escapes Drive-By Shooting By Inches

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Jackson baby is alive – by inches – today after a drive-by shooting in Jackson. Police say a woman and her infant, along with another female friend, were in a car parked in front of a home in northwest Jackson when a Toyota Camry opened fire at them just after noon on Wednesday. Both the car and the home were heavily damaged by the gunfire with police recovering over 29 shell casings from the scene. No one was injured but the child’s grandmother told WLBT-TV that one of the bullets went through the baby’s car seat, just barely missing the child’s head.
