Jackson County Deputy Saves Choking Infant

Chicot Memorial

A Jackson County couple is extremely grateful to two sheriff’s deputies who helped save their 8-day-old girl’s life. After responding to a 911 call, deputies Nathan Fisher and Chris Pitalo arrived at the home of Larry and Meghan Beddingfield and immediately began aiding the nonresponsive baby until paramedics arrived. One officer patted the baby’s back and the bottoms of her feet to clear her airway while the other used a suction bulb to remove formula from the baby’s mouth. The family and deputies were reunited Wednesday for the first time since the frightening incident.
