Indianola Police Arrest Suspect in Wednesday Murder

INDIANOLA, MS (Ben Caxton) — The man wanted in connection with a Wednesday murder in Indianola has been arrested. 20-year-old Stephon Snipes turned himself in to police shortly after noon on Monday according to Indianola Police Chief Edrick Hall. Police had been looking for Snipes, who they called a “person of interest” since last Wednesday when around 8:00 PM two people were shot while sitting in a car in the Brantley Circle area. One victim, D’Angelo Davis, died shortly later at South Sunflower County Hospital when attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. The second victim was transferred o the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with a gunshot wound to the back and was last reported to be in stable condition. Police say they believe the murder may have been in retaliation for an earlier shooting in Indianola.
