Indianola Gets Airport Grant Money for Runways

INDIANOLA, MS (Ben Caxton) — Landing at the Indianola Airport could be a smoother experience for flyers in the near future. The airport is one of 20 airports around the state that will be getting needed funding for new projects and improvements. The $9.77M in grant money was announced by Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith at the end of July and includes $241,500 for runway rehabilitation. Other projects funded in the area include $895,000 to improve airport drainage at Mid-Delta Airport in Greenville and $150,000 in Tunica and $144,000 in Kosciusko to acquire land for approaches.
