Inaugural coordinators hope for pleasant weather

Chicot Memorial

The New Year always encourages optimism and more so when a new Governor is sworn in. As Republican Governor Phil Bryant begins his second term he hopes a change of venue may also create a sence of optimism. His first inauguration back in 2012 was moved inside the state Capitol due to bad weather. Organizers are hoping for clear skies the second time around and have announced that the inaugural ceremony is scheduled to be outside the Capitol on January 12. The backup plan calls for the ceremony to be moved to the House of Representatives chamber in case of inclement weather but they believe a bright sunny day would create a more positive back drop for his second term.
