Hurricane Nate Floods Casinos And Heads To Alabama

GULFPORT, MS (Ben Caxton) — Hurricane Nate officially made first landfall in extreme southeast Louisiana Saturday night. Gulf Coast casinos were closed as the storm surge flooded the coast and Nate made a second landfall early Sunday morning near Biloxi. Nate is the first hurricane to make landfall in Mississippi since Katrina in 2005 and brought flooding and power outages but damage in Biloxi did not appear to be widespread. Now downgraded to a tropical depression, Nate is expected to continue moving northeast through the Appalachian Mountains.
