Hired Help to Find Superintendent for New District

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — The new merged city-county school district in Greenwood will be getting some help in finding its first superintendent. On Tuesday the Greenville School Board voted to pay the Mississippi School Boards Association $4,750 to help with the search for just the right person. State law has mandated that the Greenwood and Leflore County schools merge on July 1st, 2019. The board will be sending its wish list of qualifications in a few weeks, with a target of having the superintendent hired no later than March 1st of next year.
