Greenwood Sales Tax Receipts Up in July but Down for the Year

Chicot Memorial

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Sales tax reimbursements to the City of Greenwood in July were up 10% over the same period last year. But for the first ten months of the fiscal year, the city still has received about 2% less back from the state to spend than the previous year at this time. In July the State of Mississippi sent the city a check for $421,165 this month as its part of sales taxes collected by business and merchants throughout the city.
