Greenwood Mayor Sends Help To Kosciusko & Durant

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Kosciusko and Durant have been getting a little help from Greenwood at the request of Mayor Tasha Davis this week. The Greenwood Mayor sent nine linemen from the city’s municipally owned utility to the cities to help repair damage from Sunday’s tornado that left much of the city without power. They also sent equipment including a truck to dig holes for utility poles and other city vehicles. Kosciusko is now handling repairs on its own even though only limited areas have had power restored. The seven remaining Greenwood employees working in Durant are expected to remain there through the weekend.
