Greenwood Hospital Board Says "cabal Sowing Discord"

Chicot Memorial

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — In a “Letter to the Editor” to the Greenwood Commonwealth newspaper the three remaining board members at the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital said a number of highly paid employees have formed a “cabal” to “sow discord” within the hospital and the community at large. Board members of the financially strapped hospital Sammy Foster, Freddie White-Johnson and Emma Bell called the group “enemies” and “malcontents” who are hurting the “morale” of the hospital employees and ultimately “the spirit of the community.” Meanwhile, the hospital expected to lose millions of dollars this year for the third year in a row. A recent offer to manage the hospital by the University of Mississippi Medical Center withdrawn after it was rejected by the board with no vote which led to the resignation of the board chairman. And the hospital is still operating without a CEO.

  1. Yeah, who will step up, sort this out and see to it that the hospital survives. Apparently, without intervention from UM Med Center this hospital goes on the chopping block.

    Mr Mayor, where y’at?
