Greenwood Cop Cams Net Littering Scofflaws

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Recent rains have slowed the installation of eye-in-the-sky cop cameras in Greenwood. But the mayor says they are already proving valuable. The city has nabbed three people for littering. Eight more cameras are scheduled to go up, and the locations can be changed as needed to address other high-littering or other crime areas. The $58,000 system that streams live video to the Police Department’s dispatch room was approved by the Greenwood city council last August.
