Greenwood Business Closing After 130 Years

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Greenwood business that’s been around since President Stephen “Grover” Cleveland ruled over the 38 States of the Union is shutting its doors. Hardware Distribution Warehouse is selling off the rest of its inventory from its warehouse in the Greenwood-Leflore Industrial Park, and once its gone that will be the end for the longtime Greenwood company, and the last of its 54 employees. Company vice-president Jimmy Horne wrote in a statement that the closing was a result of current economic problems in the hardware industry and hoped that former HDW workers will quickly find other employment in the Greenwood area.
