Greenville Still Cleaning Up From 2016 Flooding

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Greenville area is still cleaning up after floods two years ago. Delta Force of Washington County has fixed about 110 homes that were damaged in the March 2016 floods and still has 10 to go. Meteorologists said a storm like the one in 2016 that dropped over a foot of rain and forced hundreds of people from their homes happens once every 200 years. Repairing the storm’s damage including the 120 homes would have cost the county more than $1 million but private donations raised over $200,000 for repairs.
