Greenville Police Searching for Burglary and Rape Suspect

(Greenville, MS)- Greenville Police are investigating a rape and burglary that happened early Sunday morning. Police say they responded to a call around 4:20 AM in the 1400 block of North Robertshaw in reference to a house burglary and rape. When they arrived, police made contact with the victim, a 67 year old white female, who advised she was in the residence when she was awakened by a black male. The victim stated the suspect had a knife and the suspect raped her. The victim stated the suspect then left the residence. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. Officers noticed the door was damaged and it appeared to be how entry was gained. The victim did receive treatment at DRMC.
