Greenville Man Arrested in Dollar General Armed Robbery

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — One man is in custody after police say he robbed a Greenville business at gunpoint Monday morning. Police were called to the Dollar General Store on North Highway 1 around 10:00 AM after a call from store employees saying they’d been robbed. The thief entered the store with a firearm and demanded money. After staff gave him an undisclosed amount of money he fled by stealing an employee’s 1999 white Chrysler Sebring. 38-year-old Lamont Primer was arrested in connection with the robbery a short time later without incident in the 300 block of Nancy Street. He is charged with Armed Robbery, Felony Motor Vehicle Taking, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
