Greenville Firefighters Get Smoke Detectors to Give Away

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Greenville Fire Department has some smoke detectors to give away just in time for the holidays. The state State Fire Marshal delivered 500 of the devices after Chief Ruben Brown submitted a Community Risk Reduction Plan. Greenville firefighters have distributed and installed free detectors in the past. This year they plan to do more. They will be partnering with local community resource center, high school seniors, and pastors when they go into homes to asses and provide other help that the families receiving the smoke detectors may need. Distribution and installation is expected the first part of November.
