Greenville Drive-By Shooting Sends 3 To Hospital

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Three Greenville pedestrians are in the hospital after being shot early Tuesday afternoon. Greenville Police tell Delta Daily News that officers were dispatched to the area of Alexander and 7th Street in reference to 3 shooting victims just before 1:00 PM. Upon arrival, officers discovered all victims had already been taken to the Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville by private cars. The victims are all black males, 20, 25, and 29-years-of-age but have not yet been identified publicly. Two of the victims are listed in stable condition and one has been flown to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in critical condition. Authorities say the victims were walking on Alexander when a suspect in a truck passed by and started to fire at the victims. The vehicle – which police believe they have recovered – then fled the scene. Police say they do not have a clear motive at this time, but they do have a person of interest and are actively searching for them.
